The name armatura, latin for “armour”, reflects the vests inspiration from vintage fencing vests as well as its representational role in being armour for our earth. Created from re-purposed materials, including experimental elements like granola bar wrappers, my design defends the environment by re-imaging existing materials in innovative ways. This projects material exploration acts as a precursor to my final graduation project inquiry, allowing myself to research functionality in technical wear while refining my prototyping and drafting skills. Armatura embodies the intersection of aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability; pushing the boundaries of creative and eco-conscious design.
